Ministers

We are blessed with two men who serve the congregation here in Baltimore, Maryland. They faithfully proclaim God's Word from the pulpit at each service and do much to encourage the people to develop a passion for the things of God.

The Senior Pastor is James (Jerry) Griffin who has been in the ministry for over twenty five years. Pastor Griffin was introduced to the Word during his youth by his family and the teachers at Joppa. The late Otis B. Read, founder of Joppa Gospel Tabenacle and Kinship Ministries, had a profound effect on Pastor Griffin's deep understanding of God's message for today. After serving his country in Viet Nam, he returned and became involved in the things of the Lord. His involvement led him into the leadership of another local ministry. He later returned to our midst as the Associate Pastor of Joppa Gospel Tabernacle, becoming the Senior Pastor after the death of Pastor Read in 1995.

Our Associate Pastor is Paul Montague. In addition to raising an active young family, he devotes much time and effort in serving and ministering to the church family. Pastor Montague came into a personal relationship with Jesus while attending services in our midst. His zeal led him to diligently study God's Word and apply its truth to his own life. He was ordained into the ministry of Jesus Christ and later became our Associate Pastor. Keen interest in the salvation of the souls of men has filled him with an earnest desire to be used of God to instill a passion for Jesus in others.
