Joppa Gospel Tabernacle Information

We believe that our church has much to offer you and yours, because it has done so much for every one of us. Our homes are happier and our personal lives possess a consciousness that we are not alone, but rather that God is indeed a very present help in all of the complex experiences that make up our lives.

The Joppa Tabernacle Ministry is unique in that it is not a neighborhood church. Located, as we are, just off Beltway Exit 30b north, makes it possible for all to reach us conveniently and quickly. It is commonplace for friends to drive from distances as far away as 30 miles just to attend our services. Distance is meaningless when the effort is rewarded with fearless preaching and practical teaching. Our people are friendly toward one another. Children are always welcomed into our midst and we are wonderfully equipped to care for and minister to them at their level. Our modern nursery, staffed by wonderful mothers who love and are interested in children, is the secret of why you can sit in the Sanctuary free of child responsibility, assured that your children are in good hands. In addition, our Sunday School provides Bible training through grade 12.

Here at Joppa Tabernacle we firmly believe that "Christianity is a way of life". Our whole ministry is founded upon the reality of God and the right of all true believers to experience His presence in their individual lives. We accept the Bible as God's Word and not only believe in His obvious existence, but believe the Word He has spoken. His Promises are true. Our lives, the lives of our children, our homes and manner of life bear witness to God's faithfulness. God has something better for you.

Ours is a non-denominational ministry, independent of other religious organizations. We accept the teaching of the fullness of God's Word and exercise freedom of thought in our quest for the whole truth of His Word. Our doors are open to all, regardless of past religious experience and we have but one objective - to lead and encourage our people into a vital, living, conscious experience with Jesus Christ and His saving power.

The world we live in has lost its way. Mankind is confused, frustrated and frightened. Enslaved by spiritual ignorance, many of us are victims of circumstance, but somehow we seem to realize that God has something better for all of us if we can but find That Way. Dear friend, we have found That Way and are learning to walk in it. It is a rewarding Way, an easy Way, free of the anxieties and fears that have heretofore made us their victims. It is a happy Way, a Way of peace and every step of it is with purpose and direction. Life now has meaning and we have discovered that our individual lives are an important part of God's plan for all of His creation.

Our ministers and leaders find great joy in serving His people, desiring people to look upon them as their personal friends, God's servants in their midst to encourage, instruct, help and inspire them into a whole new plane of spiritual understanding and living. We work out problems together with God for we are here to understand and help rather than to criticize or condemn. "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:17)
